Required Qualifications:
- 5-7 years’ proven experience in data visualization and analysis
- Proficient in gathering and cleaning data from various sources (Proficiency level: 4)
- Familiar with statistical methods and techniques to identify patterns, trends, correlations, and anomalies (Proficiency level: 4)
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate program requirements into technical solutions and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. (Proficiency level: 4)
- Good oral (presenting and public speaking) and written (documentation, briefing reports, correspondence, PowerPoint presentations, etc.) communication skills. (Proficiency level: 3)
- Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments. (Proficiency level: 3)
Preferred Skills:
- Extensive experience with Qlik Sense.
- Experience with Oracle SQL Developer, TOAD, or similar data tools.
- Familiarity with environmental data.
Description:
Serve as the Data Analyst for the Department’s D&A Office to support data visualization and analysis needs. This position supports the Office of Environmental Accountability and Transparency developing dashboards and reports using Qlik Sense.
Responsibilities:
- Develop visually appealing, intuitive, user friendly, and insightful Qlik Sense dashboards and reports
- Advise program areas on which visualizations and analyses would best help them achieve their goals
- Collaborate with data engineers and others to gather and clean data from various sources, ensuring data integrity and quality
- Use statistical methods and techniques to identify patterns, trends, correlations, and anomalies, and extract meaningful insights
- Interpret results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation to more complex statistical analysis
- Work collaboratively with program areas to identify KPIs and develop metrics to track and measure progress toward goals
- Collaborate with data engineers and others to optimize data collection, storage, and retrieval processes
- Monitor data quality to identify data issues and propose data cleansing or enhancement solutions
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data analysis, visualization, and reporting
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, scientists, and others to understand data needs, address technical challenges, and promote data-driven decision-making across the organization. Provide overall direction, guidance and definition of the enterprise’s architecture to effectively support the agency’s business strategy.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members and colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and excellence in D&A practices.
